Patti LaBelle, Elvis Costello, Meghan Trainor, Maren Morris To Appear On 50th Season Of Sesame Stree
NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — As the long-running children’s television series Sesame Street gears up for the debut of its 50th season, the show’s producers have lined up a roster full of star power to appear on the show this year.
The new season will kick off with a special 50th-anniversary tribute show that will provide a retrospective of the show’s five-decade history.
Hosted by Joseph Gordon Levitt, the special reimagines fan-favorite segments and songs like “People in Your Neighborhood” and “It’s Not Easy Being Green” and will include guest appearances from Whoopi Goldberg, Patti LaBelle, Elvis Costello, Meghan Trainor, Sterling K. Brown, Norah Jones, Nile Rodgers, and Itzhak Perlman.
Nearly every human cast member returns, too: Bob McGrath (Bob), Sonia Manzano (Maria), Emilio Delgado (Luis), Loretta Long (Susan), Roscoe Orman (Gordon), Linda Linda Bove (Linda), Alison Bartlett (Gina), Nitya Vidyasagar (Leela), and Olamide Faison (Miles) will also be on hand, as well as the show’s puppeteers, including Fran Brill and Caroll Spinney and current cast members Alan Muraoka (Alan), Suki Lopez (Nina), and Chris Lawrence Knowings (Chris).
The first regular episode of the 50th season premieres on Saturday, November 16 on HBO and noted performers lined up for season 50 include Chrissy Teigen; musicians Charlie Puth, Dave Grohl, and Maren Morris; ballet dancer Misty Copeland; comedian Michael Che; and Olympic athlete Chloe Kim.
